NATIONAL Grid will be working at three locations in Boston during the school half-term.

Between October 26 and November 2, National Grid is replacing a gas main which runs between Rowley Road and South End. There will be no left turn for southbound traffic from John Adams Way onto South End. Traffic will be diverted via A16 Liquorpond Street roundabout, over Haven Bridge onto South End.

On October 29 and 30, National Grid is working on trenches within the Spilsby Road junction with Hospital Lane. The works will be carried out under temporary traffic lights on Spilsby Road and a one way road closure on Hospital Lane. Traffic will be diverted along Willoughby Road. On November 1 and 2, National Grid is working on the trenches within the Fydell Street junction with Carlton Road. Temporary multi-way traffic signals will be in place to allow National Grid to permanently repair the surface of trenches.

Raymond Miller from National Grid said: "Our gas mains replacement work will ensure the people of Boston will have a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come."

Alan Spinks, principal highways officer, said: "We are pleased that National Grid have agreed to our recommendation that their repairs are carried out over the school half-term, so that traffic will be lighter and the disruption to motorists will be minimised as much as possible."
