VICTORIOUS Guiseley boss Steve Kittrick felt Boston United ran out of the ideas during Saturday's Blue Square Bet North clash – but insists he wouldn't want to face the Pilgrims in the play-offs again.

The Lions' 3-1 triumph at the Jakemans Stadium kept them hot of heels of top two Brackley and Chester.

And it would be a major surprise if Kittrick's experienced side do not secure a top-five spot for the third successive season.

United also have aspirations of reaching the play-offs after a largely promising first third of the season.

Kittrick believes Boston can make the top five, but insists neither club would want to face the other in the play-offs.

"They don't want us and we don't want them," said Kittrick, whose side pipped Boston to the UniBond League title in 2010 and beat them in the play-offs a year later.

Kittrick has the utmost respect for Lee, but believes the Pilgrims ran out of steam in the second half.

"At half-time it was nip and tuck," he said.

"We tweaked a few things and stopped the ball coming to the front man. Boston's number nine (Mark Jones) was dropping off and getting a lot of the ball.

"In the second half we sat someone in front of the back four and that stopped it.

"No disrespect to Boston, but I thought they ran out of ideas after that.

"No one comes here and does what we do. We like to play good football. It's nice when you play well here because you get good feedback from the (Boston) supporters.

"They say we're the best footballing team they've play. Let's hope by April that we are.

"Jason must hate me coming here! But seriously, he always makes me welcome and we have a chat as the season goes.

"I always trust his opinion."
