ON Thursday evening we were among the many people evacuated from Boston when the full potential of the tidal surge became clear.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Prince William of Gloucester Barracks for their kindness, hospitality and good humour which helped enormously at a very stressful time. Even our cat was received sympathetically.
Many thanks also to the staff at Caythorpe for accommodating us the next day with kindness and sympathy. Our faith in human nature was jolted on our return when we found that someone had stolen sandbags from our street door and there were reports of looting of evacuated properties. Sincere thanks to those who were helpful to us.
