Drink drivers charged after weekend blitz

POLICE charged a number of people for drink driving on the weekend in the latest clampdown.

Lincolnshire Police were targeting drink-drivers as part of its Christmas Drink Drive campaign.

Dalius Stakele, 36, of no specified abode, was charged with driving with excess alcohol of 79 microgrammes of alcohol in his system. He was also driving while disqualified and without appropriate insurance.

Edward Swiatek, 49, of Ralphs Lane, Frampton, was charged with driving with excess alcohol 106 microgrammes and has been bailed to appear before Boston Magistrates on January 2.

He was arrested on suspicion of drink driving on West End Road, Wyberton, at 8.30pm on Saturday.

Christopher Charles Parker, 28, of Chapel Lane, Mareham Le Fen, was charged with driving with excess alcohol of 93 microgrammes and has been bailed to appear before Boston Magistrates on December 9.

Elsewhere, Janis Kozurkins, 24, of Willow Walk, Spalding, was charged with driving with excess alcohol of 79 microgrammes and has been bailed to appear before Boston Magistrates on January 2.

Superintendent Kieran English said: "People in Lincolnshire have, for too long, had their families torn apart by the spectre of drink and drug driving. Those that are left behind suffer for all time the loss of a loved one.

"We will conduct checks at all times of the day to ensure drink and drug drivers do not get away with it.

"We ask members of the public to help us to help them. Lincolnshire Police wish everyone a merry Christmas and a safe New Year."

Paul Andrew Green, 48, of Beacon Road, Sheffield, was charged with driving with excess alcohol of 67 microgrammes and has been bailed to appear before Skegness Magistrates on January 7.

Vitmanas Vaskys, 49, of Station Road, Burgh Le Marsh, was charged with driving with excess alcohol of 107 microgrammes and has been bailed to appear before Skegness Magistrates on January 14.

Diane Hopkins, 52, of Kesteven Road, Stamford was charged with driving with excess alcohol of 64 microgrammes and has been bailed to appear before Grantham Magistrates on December 30.

Jacek Twardowski, 30, of Willowby Road, Stamford was charged with driving with excess alcohol of 61 microgrammes and has been bailed to appear before Grantham Magistrates on December 30.
